Overview

The USB Dual Pre is a full-featured high quality dual portable preamplifier and computer interface packed into a compact rugged case.

It is designed to work over a wide variety of applications from remote field recording to desktop/studio tracking. Each of the two low noise input channels has up to 48 dB of clean gain with signal present and clip LED indicators. Inputs can be either XLR balanced or 1/4-inch TRS. Each of the 1/4-inch TRS outputs is buffered low impedance balanced.

The USB Dual Pre is powered via the USB bus. An internal 9 Volt battery, or optional external 12V power supply (or any combination of USB, battery & power supply) can be used depending on application. When running powered by battery alone, you should expect in excess of 50 hours of operation with phantom power off. Battery life will drop to approximately 20 hours (depending on microphone) when phantom powering is engaged (still enough time to get through an average session).

The built-in low noise +48 Volt phantom power supply allows you to power up to 2 microphones as well as the preamplifier when running from any power sources including the USB bus.

For monitoring, an 1/8-inch TRS mini headphone jack with level and monitor mix controls on the rear allow for latency free local monitoring of the inputs while recording as well as playback monitoring of the USB bus. The monitor mix is also routed to the 1/4-inch TRS balanced outputs. This lets you use the 1/4-inch outputs as either preamplifier outputs or as the monitor feed to your powered monitors.

The USB interface is fully compliant with the USB 1.1 specification and uses USB adaptive mode for playback and USB asynchronous mode for record. It will work with the USB audio device drivers built into Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Apple OS9.1/OSX computers with native USB support. No special drivers are needed.

  • USB Connectivity to Desktop and Laptop Computers
  • Low Noise Fully Balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS Combi Inputs

MultiMic

https://fitnessaudioshop.com.au/blogs/news/multimic-connection-world-first

More and more Fitness Instructors are realizing the importance of having their own fitness microphones in preventing the transmission of germs between them and their colleagues.

This is a fantastic step in improving hygiene practices in fitness centers, however it does pose issues relating to the compatibility of their microphones with the audio equipment at the gyms in which they work.

Not all mics made for one brand can be used with a different wireless brand because of the internal wiring. Some brands use connectors that have 4 pins (T4 connectors), while others use connectors that have 3 pins (T3 connectors). However, each brand chooses their own wiring of the pins inside the transmitter, so the one mic will not function in any T3 or T4 transmitter brand as the wiring is different. This is bad news for Instructors wanting to buy their own fitness mic, especially if they work at different brands of gyms- until now!

AVS is now introducing a world-first MulitMic which manufactured from Australia.

All our mics are now manufactured with our new MultiMic connectors. This allows the Aeromics, Cyclemics and E-mics fitted with a T3 or T4 connector work in any brand of transmitter with the matching panel plug!

In simple words, if our mic plugs in, it will work regardless of the transmitter’s brand or internal wiring.

Overview

The PDB™ Passive Direct Box is a rock solid, roadworthy DI for connection of the outputs of electronic musical instruments (or other audio sources) to the balanced inputs of mixer consoles and other balanced inputs.

The PDB™ also allows connection of a music source to an instrument amplifier while simultaneously patching it to a mixer.

PDB Applications:

  • Electric guitar and bass pick up output signals – The high impedance signal from a guitar or bass guitar pickup is translated by the PDB™ into a low impedance balanced signal required by mixing consoles.

  • Keyboards and line level signals – The PDB™ automatically balances and matches the line level outputs of modern electronic keyboards. If you are using a multiple keyboard setup and your keyboards are all plugged into a single instrument amplifier, the PDB™ can be used to replace individual direct boxes. Simply send the output of the instrument amplifier to the PDB™ and then to the console (instead of a separate DI box for each keyboard).

  • DJ console output signals – DJ mixers often supply only an unbalanced -10dB signal. The PDB™ converts this signal to a balanced line level signal before it reaches the console, while providing a convenient method of connector transition with the capability to run long cables.

  • Speaker level signals – The PDB’s ability to accept speaker level inputs from a power amplifier’s output allows post-amplifier, post eq and effects signals to be fed directly to the console. In this manner, a particular effect or amplifier sound can be sent directly to the mix.
